Medical Device Commercialisation Program (MDCP)- South Australia

The Medical Device Commercialisation Grant is a financial assistance element of the The Medical Device Commercialisation Program, a competitive commercialisation program funded by the South Australian Government, through the Department of Trade and Economic Development to support the early stage development and commercialisation of medical and assistive devices. Upto $40,000 is available on a 1:1 funding basis.

Registration deadline for R&D tax grant -Extended 2 May 2011

The deadline for submission of applications for registration ( section 39J ) for the R&D Tax Concession for the 2009-10 income year for June balancing companies is Monday 2nd May 2011 ( Queensland applicants get an extra day due to a public holiday where the deadline has been extended to Tuesday 3 May 2011).

Northern Territory Research and InnovatIon Grants 2011

Northern Territory Research and Innovation Grants Program is now open. Do you have a research project that requires funding? Do you have an idea for a new product or service? Do you have a new project or idea but are not sure whether it is viable?
Your project or idea may be eligible for a Research and Innovation Grant. Any project that demonstrates a benefit to the Northern Territory and supports Northern Territory research priorities will be considered.
Applications are now open until 10th May 2011 for 2011 Research and Innovation Grants.

Defence Grant: Capability and Technology Demonstrator (CTD) Program.

Call for proposals for Round 16 of the Capability and Technology Demonstrator (CTD) Program. The CTD Program aims to improve priority Defence capabilities. It provides Australian and New Zealand industry with an opportunity to demonstrate their technology and allows Defence to assess its potential.

R&D Tax Concession 09/10 tax year – last 45 days to apply

Time is running out for companies to register and complete their R&D Tax Concession application for the 2009/10 tax year.

Companies with year end at 30th June 2010 have until 30th April 2011 to register.

The R&D Tax Concession, registration application form is available at a single entry point via the R&D Tax Concession Online Gateway. The form is a downloadable, editable, and electronically submittable PDF application for annual registration of R&D activities (section 39J) and allows customers to select the income year of the form.
A short Help Guide is available inside the Gateway along with comprehensive application notes that provide assistance with accessing, navigating and printing the form.
The downloadable PDF form uses Adobe Acrobat Reader technology. For customers who intend to submit electronically using the Adobe PDF form, further information on supported Adobe Acrobat Reader versions is available at the R&D Tax ConcessionOnline Gateway.

Commercialisation Australia Round 5 results

34 Australian inventions, including a drug to treat learning and memory loss, an additive to reduce carbon emissions from cement production and a greener hot water system will be turned into commercial success stories, with the support of Commercialisation Australia Grants. $13 million will be invested in the projects through Commercialisation Australia, the Australian Government’s flagship initiative for Australian entrepreneurs.
In 2010, its first year of operation, Commercialisation Australia awarded a total of $33.6 million for 88 projects. Details of the latest 34 projects are attached and listed below.

Victorian Competitive Business Fund- Round 2 open $3m

The Competitive Business Fund is a Victorian Government initiative to assist businesses to take
maximum advantage of new opportunities that are emerging in the global economy.
The Fund supports growing and competitive businesses with the potential to move into new
markets, develop processes and solutions, or to invest further in their business in order to enhance
competitiveness and capitalise on emerging opportunities.
Funding in the order of $3 million is available in the second round of grants on a competitive basis.
Applications open on Monday 7 March 2011 and must be received by 5pm AEST on Friday
8 April 2011.

Victorian Smart Water- Open Innovation Stream Grant up to $500k

The Smart Water Fund is now accepting funding applications for innovative water management projects under the Open Innovation Stream. The Fund will consider funding applications in the range of $100,000 to $500,000.
Funding will be available to undertake innovative projects that deliver new or enhanced knowledge, products or solutions that contribute towards sustainable urban water management. Projects being proposed for funding must have a demonstrated need and benefit to the Victorian water utilities and the customers they serve. Applications with wider national or international relevance are also encouraged. Stage one applications will be accepted from Thursday 3 March until 2pm Friday 8 April 2011.

EMDG – Export Grant Payments for 2011

The Parliamentary Secretary for Trade, Justine Elliot, said today (18/2/11) that the Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) scheme had attracted more than 4,500 claims from Australian businesses for expenditure made in 2009-10. The total value of these claims is approximately $211 million.
The EMDG scheme helps export-focused small and medium-sized Australian businesses become sustainable exporters by providing partial reimbursement of certain export promotion expenses.
Businesses with approved grants of up to $27,500 will receive the full value of their EMDG claims. Applications for grants in excess of $27,500 are expected to be paid at the rate of between 45 and 65 cents in the dollar on the balance of claims above $27,500.
