Our Team

Peter Nolle

BE (Hons), MBA, Grad Dip Applied Finance and Investments

Peter is the director of Treadstone and is a registered R&D Tax Practitioner.  He has extensive business and financial management experience gained from a career of over seventeen years in engineering, finance and information technology industries. He has worked in Australia and the UK.

From 2007 to 2008 he managed a technology spin-off business developing a prototype mobile phone/email platform for international markets. He has extensive experience across a wide range of Government Grants from R&D to Export. Peter is on advisory boards of several innovation focused companies.

He completed his MBA at Melbourne Business School in 2006 and is well connected in Melbourne’s entrepreneurial  and venture capital communities.

Peter is a member of the Australian Export Consultants Group, the Export Council of Australia and the Australian Information Industry Association.

Daniel Weinstock

BCom, M.A. Prelim.

Daniel is actively involved in project management, regulatory and government grant activities with medical device, IT,  biotechnology and rural based start-up firms.

He co-founded Abacus Data Services in 1977, then founded and managed National Computer Services for fifteen years. These firms marketed computers and peripheral equipment, and developed and customized commercial software applications.

With his breadth of industry knowledge and world-wide involvement over many years, Daniel brings considerable management and operations experience and depth to Treadstone strengthening our ability to deliver value added consulting to innovative companies.

Ben Thompson

BSc (Hons),  Dip Business Management

Ben has a background in IVF, nuclear science and engineering at ANSTO before working  at AusIndustry, one of the governing bodies of the R&D tax programs.    He spent several years preparing claims under the R&D tax concession program at a Sydney based R&D Tax specialist working across the breadth of Australian industries. He also co-founded a tech startup in 2011.  Ben joined Treadstone in 2011 and specialises in the R&D tax incentive for a range of industries including:

  • mining & resources (open cut, underground, dragline and  alluvial sands)
  • tooling and manufacturing
  • food and beverage
  • financial
  • ICT (in particular with SaaS and mobile app products)
  • general engineering products
  • R&D Tax audit and compliance reporting

Ben has been part of private consultant briefing sessions for the new R&D Tax Incentive program. His skills of interpreting R&D activities and preparing expense substantiation with regard to the  legislation makes Ben a valuable part of the Treadstone team.

Steve Dowling

BA, MMktg, Certified Practising Marketer

Steve is experienced in developing strategic market access approaches for connecting businesses internationally. His passion in business is to inspire and provide the best means for clients to grow. With a background in domestic and international business development at GWA, Mitsui, Rinnai and others, he is strategically and tactically oriented to guide businesses in establishing the most relevant initiatives to achieve a presence in overseas markets.

Robin Owen

BSc Engineering Metallurgy,  Grad Dip Management

Robin has rich background working across the metals industry with manufacturers, universities and government. In his recent role within the

Victorian Government Department of Business and Innovation (DBI) Robin focused on technology diffusion, investment attraction and advising ministers in matters in this sector.  In particular he has worked with the CAST CRC and CSIRO on a number of major projects.  In this time he undertook four successful trade missions to Germany, USA and Japan involving the foundry, forging and die casting industries. Prior to DBI he worked as a consultant with Industry Capability Network (ICN) and his earlier career was as a product manager.

Robin brings a vast knowledge of grant programs across Federal funding through ARC, Ausindustry as well as Victorian State programs to Treadstone and a rich network of industry and government contact.

 

Diana Karambalis

BSc Biomedical 

Diana specialises in preparing and advising on export grants for Austrade’s Export Market Development Grants.   She managed a number of bookkeeping and administration systems for various SMEs for over fifteen years and understands the pressures of small business and exporters.

Diana’s skills in accounting and communication will efficiently guide businesses through the EMDG process.  Her aim at Treadstone is to assist businesses by maximising grant payouts and minimising preparation time. She providing frameworks for easier ongoing management of the grant scheme.

Diana worked in biomedical science prior to moving into business and education roles.
