Digital Hubs, Digital Enterprise & Digital Local Government Grants (Round 2)

Over $40 million in funding is available to the first 40 communities to benefit from the NBN rollout. These are federal government grants and successful round one applicants are now announced.

The next 19 communities are invited to apply for the grants; namely the Digital Hubs Grant ($13.6 million total), Digital Enterprise Grant ($10 million total) and the Digital Local Government Grant (($17.1 million total).

Deadlines for Digital Hubs and Digital Enterprise applications are 3/2/2012, while Digital Local Government applications close on 31/3/2012.

11 projects announced- NSW Mobile Concierge Collaborative Solutions Program

The NSW Government has awarded 11 consortium grants under its Collaborative Solutions program initiative, Mobile Concierge, to develop innovative and new-to-market mobile solutions for the tourism and retail sectors. The consortiums include multinationals such as Google, Microsoft, Nokia, and Singtel Optus, who will partner with technology start-ups and retail, tourism, and cultural organisations in “cross-sector collaborations”. Each consortium will be led by a NSW ICT company which will develop and pilo t the new solutions in NSW

NSW Mobile technology collaboration grant CS-MC

NSW Government has opened a $6 million Collaborative Solutions Program with stage 1 Mobile Concierge program, targeted at increasing the use of mobile and wireless solutions for the tourism and retail sectors.
Grants cover up to 35% of total project costs up to $250,000, and will be offered competitively to bring together business consortiums to develop ICT-enabled solutions.An industry briefing will take place on 2nd February 2011, with registrations required by 28th January 2011. $1.5m for NSW Digital Media Initiative grants

The NSW Government has launched a new $4.5 million fund to support innovative digital media content projects. The NSW Digital Media Initiative will provide development grants of up to $50,000 for early stage developments, and up to $250,000 for advanced projects with commercial potential.

Applicants must be NSW registered businesses. Applicants may include businesses involved in digital media production, including games studios and mobile or online content developers, multi-disciplinary teams that involve convergence of traditional and digital media (e.g. filmmakers and games developers), digital content creators seeking to collaborate with sectors such as health, education and climate change

Digital Regions Initiative Round 2

The Digital Regions Initiative co-funds digital enablement applications to improve services in the key sectors of health, education and/or emergency services in regional, rural and remote communities across Australia in partnership with state, territory and local governments.
