National Science Week Grants are one of several avenues through which the Australian Government funds National Science Week.
National Science Week 2010 will run from August 14-22
The Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, through the Science Connections
Program (SCOPE), also supports the Australian Science Teachers Associations (ASTA) National Science Week Schools Kit and Resource Book, the National Tour by prominent international science personalities, the National Project (hosted online by the ABC) and activities of the State and Territory Coordinating Committees.
$500,000 is available through SCOPE to fund approved National Science Week events throughout Australia.
Applications for the 2010 grants will open on Thursday 1 October and close on Friday 23 October 2009, at 5.00pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT). Updated guidelines and information for applicants for the National Science Week 2010 Grants Program are now available online.
An independent committee will meet in December to discuss eligible applications and to recommend a group of successful applicants to the Department. Minister Kim Carr will announce the successful grant applicants early in 2010.
