Changes that all exporters need to know about EMDG:
- Austrade has announced that the initial payout for EMDG applicants will be increased from $40,000 to $100,000 for applications submitted after 1st July 2020. Any remain rebate over $100,000 will be subject to a payout factor in June 2021.
- The export performance test for the 2019–20 grant year has been waived. This means the rebate amount for 3+ year applicants will be determined by eligible expenditure only and will not be affected by the value of exports achieved.
- The new grant application portal will need MyGov ID to logon.
As per usual, early applicants have a 3 to 5 week turnaround. Applicants that submit in November will be waiting up to 15 weeks. Applicants that miss the 30th November deadline will need to apply using a QIP EMDG Consultant, such as Treadstone.
