The Australian Government announced on 2nd April 2019 an additional $60 million for the Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) scheme over the next three years. This makes the funding amount of  $157.2m per year ($20m on top of the existing $137.2m) for FY19,FY20 and FY21 grant years.

The increase will provide a welcome boost to the FY19 EMDG applications however will not effect the under funded FY18 year.

Furthermore it is expected that this funding will be nowhere enough to return the program to full payout of for  maximum expenditure applicants.

Tranche 1 payout for Fy19 are expected to be announced in June and likewise the final payout factor for FY18 tranche 2 will be in late June 2019.
